Iran closes its airspace amid security concerns
Majid Akhavan, spokesperson for the Roads and Urban Development Ministry, explained that this measure was taken due to recent events and to guarantee the safety of passengers and flights. The suspension of air traffic is set to last until 2:00 p.m. local time (10:30 GMT) on Wednesday.
The closure follows Israel’s airstrikes on Tehran and other Iranian locations on June 13.
A ceasefire between Iran and Israel was declared earlier on Tuesday, although the airspace restrictions remain in place for now.
